MAD LIONS WIN $500,000 PRIZE AND CAPTURE FLASHPOINT 1 GRAND FINALS TITLE
Flashpoint, the global Counter Strike: Global Offensive (CS:GO) tournament series from team-owned esports organization B Site, Inc., concluded its inaugural tournament series today as MAD Lions defeated MIBR 2-1 to take home $500,000 and the very first Red Chrome AK-47 championship trophy. The match captured over 270,000 concurrent viewers – a record for Flashpoint 1.
MAD Lions advanced to the final during the Consolidation Final match on April 18 beating HAVU 2-0 to set up the epic final against MIBR.
“We’re so proud to be the inaugural winners of Flashpoint! There have been many that doubted our team, and this win feels so much sweeter, because we’ve overcome the doubters and adversities. This team has proven that when you stick together, support each other, and never give up, great things can happen,” said Adam Adamou, Chief Strategy Officer for OverActive Media, and founding team of B Site. “Similar to our players, OverActive Media is a young organization that’s barely two years old. This is the first major championship for one of our major teams, and it couldn’t be more appropriate for it to come at Flashpoint 1 -- the first championship of the first team-owned tournament series in esports history.”
